Textured Sensory Wall

During the morning circle at our facility in Harras, we took some extra time to learn more about different kinds of textures, for example soft, rough and hard. After the children took a moment to inspect the different kinds of material and objects a bit closer, they had the chance to create their very own sensory wall. With a sensory board/wall, children can touch the different textures to discover how they feel. During the early years, children learn to perceive their environment through their senses. This sensory wall for toddlers is a combination tactile experience and fine motor activity perfect for a child learning to walk or new to walking. Older children also begin to explore their sense of smell and taste.
