Fine Motor Skills

One of our main objectives is to promote the development of the fine motor skills of our little ones. This can be done through various ways and activities. Here in Neuhausen 2, we enjoy using the material nature has given us to play and support the development of these skills. Using a sifter the children have a chance to observe what happens when they pour in a scoop of sand, which have been mixed with peas, and letting it sieve through. Or also watching rice trickling through a funnel or trying to throw different sized lids through a slot. Apart from these experiments, the educators also went to gather chestnuts with the children. Here they had the chance to carefully open the shells of the closed chestnuts to discover what was hiding inside.
