Nevertheless, our educators, like here at Infanterix Dornach, also offer the children activities that are explicitly intended to enhance their sensory skills. For instance, buttons can be dropped into a jam jar with a hole cut in the lid. To introduce colours, the buttons can be sorted according to the colour of the lids in the next step. Or with the help of tweezers or a spoon, felt pom-poms can be moved from one bowl to the other. Not so easy when the balls are so light and tend to roll away… There is also a sensory wall on which various shapes and materials are attached.
