Making Fat balls for the Birds
By ilehmann In NewsNo matter how big the excitement about the snow might be, we can’t turn a blind eye towards the poor birds who have to fight to find food on a daily basis. Therefore, the caring children from Neuperlach decided to help the birds out this winter. Together with their teachers, the children collected and prepared all the ingredients required to make their own fat balls. First they melted the fat, then added the seeds, nuts, wheat flour and oats and finally poured the mixture into a mould. Lastly, let it set and when it’s ready, tie a little string around the ball and hang it out for the birds to enjoy. Surely we will be seeing many grateful little birds in our garden and on the terrace from now on.
