Nature awakes

As winter gives way to the oncoming spring and nature awakes, something magical is happening. The fragrant buds begin to bloom, and excitement is in the air. At our facility in Moosach, the educators made use of this opportunity to teach the children more about plants and how they grow. The children prepared flowerpots by filling it with soil and then planting some seeds. To teach them a sense of responsibility, the children had to check on the seeds daily to make sure the seeds had enough water. While waiting for the seeds to sprout, the children made their own little clay flowerpots. Using a handful of clay, the children started by kneading it to maintain its softness. In the next step, they made a ball from the soft clay before forming the clay ball into a small flowerpot. Now once again, patience is asked for while they wait for the clay to harden. After only a couple of days, we could already see the first green emerging from under the ground as the seeds started to sprout. Only a few more days and the children can replant the sprouting seedlings into their very own handmade flowerpots and take them home.
