It’s Advent time and the children in our facilities are in the Christmas spirit, like here at Infanterix Dornach. Every night, a little deer brings a letter explaining what the children have to do in preparation for Christmas. The first thing the children did was to decorate the tree, followed by writing their wish lists the very next day.
The daily activities are also adapted to the winter season. The teachers prepared Christmas sensory trays, in which the children had to match the colourful snowballs to the matching gloves or arrange the decorations on the clay-paper Christmas tree.
Of course, the pre-Christmas preparations also include baking, which means flour. The children had the opportunity to explore the flour with all their senses and by doing so, train their sensory skills.
