“Toy day” with a difference

At our facility in Aubing, the educators organized a toy day on which the children were allowed to bring a toy of their choice. Each child has a toy which they take as their closest companion. Whether a book, doll or dinosaur, the heart of the matter is that, toys are kids’ words and play is their dialect. The children presented their toys during the morning circle and were asked to talk about it. Throughout the course of the day, new playgroups started to form. The children discussed and showed off their toys to children whom they usually don’t choose to play with. It was nice to observe how the children got into conversation with each other and how different playgroup constellations started to form because of their curiosity.
